In partnership with others, we helped expand the capacity of this Peace Map to collect and display information on peace actors globally. The interactive map (www.GPCYP.com/map) compiles the shared knowledge of the wider peacebuilding community on patterns of conflict risk and the locations of peacebuilding actors working to address those risk factors. The map now allows quantifiable data on children and youth peacebuilding inputs (age range, number of participants, types and quality of activities). With enough input, we hope to be able to analyze patterns between the types, quality, and quantity of child and youth peacebuilding inputs, and changes in peace and conflict indicators. Thus, this could be an incredible tool for informing how to more effectively engage young people as peacebuilders.
We encourage any agency that has conducted or is conducting child or youth peacebuilding activities to login to the mapping platform and add their work. As more agencies do so this map will become a fantastic tool for analysis and for helping others find child and youth peacebuilding efforts to support. Users can also easily endorse projects that they believe are doing good work. Check it out!
